Rabbi Efraim Warshaw
Researcher, Script Consultant, & Educational Director for Against All Odds

Efraim Warshaw is an American rabbi and educator from California with an enormous love for and knowledge of Israel.

On leave from UCLA where he was taking a degree in Mid-Eastern Studies and Languages. he studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for his sophomore year abroad. During this thrilling period he traveled throughout Israel, counseled immigrant youth, worked for 5 months on a Kibbutz, and excavated archeological sites on his free time.

Upon ordination as a rabbi by Jewish Theological Seminary of America and completing his doctoral studies in education at New York University, he directed leading Jewish high schools and adult institutes on both the East & West Coast, where he introduced innovative curricula and cutting edge learning strategies.

Leading frequent summer tours to Israel, enabled him to keep abreast with developments in Israel, which he has always felt passionate about. Eventually he moved to Jerusalem for a long Sabbatical lasting ten years. There he met his wife, adopted two Ethiopian youngsters and also explored the country intensively from Rosh Hanikra to Eilat.

For "Against All Odds", he worked closely with Tom Ivy as a researcher and script editor in the early stages of the project. He is now serving as the Educational Director, designing a curriculum to turn the 13-part series into a program to be taught in Christian, Jewish and secular high schools and colleges, as well as in adult education programs in churches and synagogues.
